Vintage Antique Extravaganza day at Thompson Postponed
THOMPSON, CT — The Vintage Antique Extravaganza day at Thompson International Speedway has been postponed. A new date for this event will be announced soon. The event was rained out this past Saturday and the track had hopes of being able to reschedule it quickly. However, scheduling conflicts have made it necessary to look further down the road for a potential date.
“When the rains forced our hands this past Saturday, we wanted to simply postpone the vintage event for a week,” said track owner Don Hoenig. “However, scheduling conflicts have made that impossible. We tried to work things out among all parties concerned, but some scheduled events simply could not be moved. So, we will now work to see if we can find a date this fall that will work for all concerned,” he concluded.
The Vintage Antique Extravaganza is a day set aside for the owners, drivers and fans of classic antique race cars to enjoy an entire day of on-track activity. Many of these classic racers are excellent examples of race cars from days gone by. Some that show up each year at Thompson are such classics that they are simply put on display for everyone to enjoy.
The track will announce a new date for this event once all parties concerned reach agreement on a new date.
