Fitch & Andrey: Loved legends passing…
Two of motorsport’s most beloved and respected gentlemen have passed away. Gaston “Gus” Andrey left us Saturday, October 27, and John Fitch closed his eyes for the last time this morning, Wednesday, October 31; Gus was 86, John 95.
Both gentlemen – drivers supreme, businessmen, entrepreneurs – were intimately connected with Lime Rock Park.
As you will soon undoubtedly read full-fledged stories on their backgrounds, history and importance to the sport on the web and in magazines too numerous to count, let it be said that all of us at Lime Rock Park miss these two immensely – and cannot even begin to express our gratitude, our respect and our immense pride in these gracious men.
Guys, as you take laps in the great beyond, as you most assuredly are, keep the shiny side up, okay?
Rest in peace, gentlemen…
