New England Truck Series Crowns New 2012 Truck Champion

Danielson CT–The New England Truck Series held its first ever awards banquet this past Saturday night as they honored there 2012 champion and runner-ups at the Imperial Room in Danielson Connecticut.

The evening started out with a buffet dinner and desert that was enjoyed by all. Once dinner was completed, it was time to start the award presentations. Banquet host Harold Burdick opened the award ceremony by asking for a moment of silence in remembrance of the 27 people killed tragically at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Sandy Hook Ct. Series president Lorraine Pard then spoke to the crowd, thanking them for their continued support as well as announcing that the 2013 schedule would be out soon. Race director Mark Woodcock also spoke to the gathering thanking them for a great 2012 season.

The series officials were then recognized and given thank you plaques for their hard work. Race Director – Mark Woodcock, Official/Assistant Tech – Chris Austil, Official – Ann Marie Pard, Official – Michelle Pard, Administrated Assistant – Doris Frizzell, Chief Stewart – James Warner and Head of Tech – Todd Stiles.

The special awards were next. This is the first year that these awards have been given out to the competitors as an extra bonus at the award banquet. DJ McGouran took down the Hard Luck of the year award as he struggled in his first season in the trucks. Nate Bubello took down a well deserved Sportsman of the Year award while Don Super got a Special Appreciation Award for all the help he does with the Series. Cindy Burdick Motorsports took down the Best Appearing Team award while Shane Michalski took down the Best Appearing Truck Award. Cindy Burdick Motorsports once again sponsored the Rookie of the Year award and that went to Glen Noll. This was the second year in a row that a Noll received this award as his brother Duane received it in 2011.

Then it was on to the top three in points for the 2012 racing season. Bert Ouellette took down the third spot with the Sundeen Furniture, Cindy Burdick Motorsports Ford. It was Bert’s second season with this series and he took down the recognition of winning the most heat races in 2012. Bert thanked his team for the past twelve years of racing for them and wished them the best of luck in 2013 as he moves back to the gokart ranks. Jason Lafayette was up next as he finished second in points for the season in his Daigle’s Diversified Welding Chevrolet. Jason thanked his team and family for all the work that they do and wished everyone the best of luck as he moves into an SK Lite modified for 2013. Then it was time to honor our champion as Duane Noll took center stage. Duane did a remarkable job by winning seven times during the season and had ten top five finishes in his Sparkling Angels Cleaning Service Chevrolet. Duane thanked his fellow competitors for a great season wishing both Bert and Jason the best of luck with their new ventures. He also took the time to thank his family and team for all their efforts as well as the series for the work they do to put on these races. Duane made it known that he plans to return in 2013 to defend his title and will have a three truck team next year as his son goes for Rookie of the Year. The final speaker of the night was past five time champion Andy Lindeman as he congratulated the new champion on his incredible season. Following the awards there was dancing and celebrating as teams look forward to the 2013 season.
