G2G Racing Offering Simulation Racing In Eastfield Mall
Stafford Springs, CT — If you've ever wanted to feel what it's like behind the wheel of a racecar and speeding around the track, but you don't quite have the money to build a racecar, G2G Racing in the Eastfield Mall has a solution for you. G2G Racing has two full motion simulators with plans to add two more in their store location in the Eastfield Mall in Springfield.
G2G Racing has F1 2012, Grid, and iRacing as the three race options that users can choose from. Drivers can go around the track solo, or they can race against a friend.
"We currently have 2 full motion simulators and we have two more coming," said Mary McGrath, co-owner of G2G Racing. "We can set up a solo run, or we can set two people up to race against one another. One of our plans over the winter is to start up a simulated racing series once our other two simulators arrive. We have three games that we can offer, and the thing we have to keep reminding everyone is that is a simulation and not a video game."
G2G Racing offers time on their simulators by the minute, with 1 minute costing $1. A 3-lap race costs $5 and a two-person race for 3 laps is $10 and a five-lap race for two people is $15. G2G Racing has other discounts and pricing available based on how long you want to race on the simulator.
"We sell time on the simulator by the minute," said McGrath. "We also have discounts for the longer you want to race and we have programs like a frequent driver card, or we have beat the staff times where you can earn free time on the simulator. Also, we have a program where you buy one of our tee-shirts, you get 10 free minutes on the simulator."
G2G Racing is looking for local race teams that would be interested in displaying their racecars in the Mall outside of the G2G store during weekends.
"The Eastfield Mall is doing us a favor and letting us display race cars on the weekend, so we're trying to reach out to teams to let them know this would be a great way to promote their team and their sponsors," said McGrath. "We will help to promote the driver on our Facebook page and the driver can let all their fans know they will be there. Fans can then actually race against their favorite driver and conceivably win the race. Where else can that happen? We've been open for about 5 weeks now and the business was a little slow at first, but in the last few weeks, we're up to our goal of running the simulator for 4 hours a day. Once we get our extra two simulators installed, we're looking forward to starting up leagues. We will have a few leagues, one for drivers, one for gamers, and I would love to have one for older drivers who are no longer able to race due to age, disability or CASH. I would love to be able to put them back into the driver's seat and race against each other like they once did."
G2G Racing is located in the Eastfield Mall at 1655 Boston Road in Springfield, MA. G2G Racing can be found on the web at www.g2gracing.com, or you can like them on facebook.com/G2GRacing.
