Sunoco Race Fuel Mandated for Riverhead Raceway Competitors in 2013, New Distributor Announced

RIVERHEAD, NY — Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty announced today that teams competing in the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the historic quarter mile oval will be mandated to use Sunoco Race Fuel when the new season opens on Saturday May 4th. It was also disclosed that Insinger Performance will be the new distributor for Sunoco with the fuel being sold at Riverhead Raceway by Eddie & Connie Partridge, the current Hoosier Tire distributor through their Hoosier Tire of Calverton, Inc.

Sunoco Race Fuel, the Official Fuel of NASCAR will be providing Riverhead Raceway Chief Technical Inspector Walter Bonczyk and his staff with the equipment to enforce the mandated use of Sunoco Race Fuel as well as Sunoco pump gas. “We are well aware that some teams either blend race fuel with pump gas or in some instances run straight pump gas” Bonczyk noted Monday “either way both the pump gas and the race fuel must be Sunoco”. The Legend Race Cars can use RMR from Sunoco, while the NASCAR Modifieds can run Sunoco Supreme 112, while other divisions will use the Sunoco Standard 110. Bonczyk also went on to say that other types of approved Sunoco Race Fuel will be permitted but warns that all teams fuel will be checked all season long to assure it is a Sunoco product.

All teams will be required to display a Sunoco Race Fuel and Insinger Performance decal on their cars.

Enduro teams are not affected by the Sunoco Race Fuel rule for their events in 2013.

In entering the new working relationship with Insinger Performance and Eddie & Connie Partridge, the Cromarty’s have designated Saturday August 3rd as Sunoco Race Fuel Night featuring Twin 30 feature events for the NASCAR Modifieds. Joining them are the Chargers, Super Pro Trucks and a 4/6-Cylinder Car Enduro.
