TSI Harley-Davidson Renews Title Sponsorship of Memorial Day Weekend Whelen Modified Tour Event at Stafford Speedway
Stafford Springs, CT –Stafford Motor Speedway has announced that for the sixth consecutive season, the track’s Memorial Day Weekend Whelen Modified Tour event will be sponsored by TSI Harley-Davidson, the oldest Harley-Davidson dealer in the state of Connecticut. The 23rd Annual TSI Harley-Davidson 125 will be held on Friday, May 24. TSI Harley-Davidson first joined Stafford Motor Speedway as a race sponsor in 2005 when they sponsored a NASCAR K & N Pro Series East event. TSI Harley-Davidson sponsored that East Series race from 2005-2007 and transferred their sponsorship to the Whelen Modified Tour beginning in 2008 and they have been the title sponsor of that race every year since.
“We’re happy to be back at Stafford for another season,” said Harry Levesque, Owner of TSI Harley-Davidson. “Stafford Speedway is a great place for us to be able to reach out to our target audience and it has been a great place for us to be able to showcase our line of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. A lot of Stafford race fans are also Harley-Davidson fans, and we have a lot of fun being able to interact with the fans on race night.”
The TSI Harley-Davidson 125 has become one of the most exciting stops on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Over the past 10 years, the TSI Harley-Davidson has consistently delivered thrilling duels for the checkered flag in the closing laps as well as last lap passes for the win between some of the most decorated drivers that take part on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Last year’s TSI Harley-Davidson 125 saw eventual Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby overcome an unscheduled pit stop under caution on lap-27 for a flat tire with a spirited charge through the field to win the race. Coby caught back up to polesitter and race leader Bobby Santos, III with 10 laps to go and he made the winning pass with 8 laps to go. Along with Coby, Whelen Modified Tour champions Ted Christopher, Tony Hirschman, Donny Lia, Bobby Santos, III, Ronnie Silk, and Mike Stefanik have all tasted the fruits of victory in the TSI Harley-Davidson 125.
