Rain Postpones MRS Event at Thompson
Thompson, Conn — Inclement weather at Thompson International Speedway on Sunday, May 19, forced the postponement of the day’s racing events that were to include the Modified Racing Series (MRS). After completing qualifying for nearly all of the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series divisions and a single heat race of the three scheduled for the VMRS Modifieds, a persistent drizzle turned steadier; ending any attempts at feature racing.
The remainder of this event will be completed on Thursday, July 25. The management of Thompson Speedway will work with the Modified Racing Series in hopes of finding a free date on the Modified Racing Series schedule with the goal of keeping three (3) series events on the 2013 schedule. When the race resumes, the Thompson Speedway management will honor all rain checks.
