Stafford Speedway Drivers will be Racing for Xtra Dollars in 2013 Thanks to Xtra Mart Xtra D Bonus Program
Stafford Springs, CT — For the second consecutive season, Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series drivers will be racing for extra bonus money thanks to Xtra Mart Convenience Stores. Last year was the inaugural season of the Xtra Mart Xtra D program, which gave each of Stafford’s five weekly divisions the opportunity to race in an extra distance feature and the top-5 finishers in those Xtra D features received a cash bonus. For 2013, Xtra Mart Convenience Stores will contribute a total of $3,750 that will be split up among the five races that will make up the Xtra Mart Xtra D Series.
The Xtra Mart Xtra D Series kicked off with the Late Model Xtra D 35-lap feature on Friday, May 10. That event paid an extra $1,000 to the top-5 finishers and the DARE Stocks took to the track for their Xtra D race last Friday, May 17 with a 20-lap feature event that split $250 among the top-5 finishers. The SK Modified® division will race for Xtra dollars as part of the 40th Annual Coors Light Xtra D 80-lap feature on Friday, July 19 with $1,500 split among the top-5 finishers; the Limited Late Model division will go for their Xtra Mart Xtra D bonus with a 25-lap feature on Friday, June 14; and the SK Light division will wrap up the Xtra Mart Xtra D Series with a 25-lap feature event on Friday, July 5. Both the SK Lights and Limited Late Models will split $500 among the top-5 finishers from each feature event.
