Speedbowl Cancels 5/25 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Program
Waterford, CT — For the second time in three weeks, Waterford Speedbowl cancelled its NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing program scheduled for Saturday evening. Persistent wet weather and chilly temperatures forecasted through afternoon and evening forced the decision.
No decision to make up the event was made Saturday. Sunday’s Memorial Day Madness program at the track is still on as scheduled, featuring Demo Derby, Speedbowl Trailer Race, 50-lap four-cylinder and more on-track events, capped off by an aerial fireworks display to celebrate the holiday weekend. Grandstands open at 5:30pm Sunday and the action gets started at 7pm.
Attention turns to next Saturday’s Four Cylinder Fury NASCAR program. The popular event is highlighted by 50-lap features for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Mini Stocks and Northeast Mini Stock Tour. They will be joined by the Pro 4 Modifieds of New England, NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modifieds® and Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Models, plus the Speedbowl’s Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday four-cylinder X-Car division.
A large turnout of cars is anticipated.
