Douville Tames Bear Ridge Sprint Car Field, Patterson Captures First Modified Win

Adam Pierson Dominates USAC Dirt Midgets

BRADFORD, VT – Veteran stock car and sprint car driver Dan Douville wowed the crowd at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT on Saturday night with a rim riding performance in the 25-lap Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) feature on Jiffy Mart of Bradford Night as part of the 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series. A jammed pit area saw a total of 111 race teams from five states competing on the seven-division card.

Douville, from Bridgewater, NH started the race in the ninth position and used the races only caution to his advantage, taking the lead from Orwell, VT resident Lacey Hanson with just 5 laps remaining in the race after racing side by side with her for a couple of laps. Hanson, a multi time Granite State Mini Sprint Champion, posted a career best second place finish with veteran Chris Donnelly completing the top three. Chris Downs was fourth with Will Hull fifth.

“Fast” Eddie Patterson of Websterville, VT captured his first career win on dirt Saturday night in the 40-lap Bond Auto Parts DIRTcar Sportsman Modified feature. Patterson, whose last win came on the asphalt in 2002, tracked down early leader Derek Barker working his way into the lead at the halfway point of the event. Barker finished a solid second, a career best for the young driver. Robert Tucker claimed third, holding off Tim Hodge and Jason Gray, who finished fourth and fifth.

Adam Pierson turned in a dominating performance in the non-stop USAC Dirt Midget Feature. Pearson, who started ninth took the lead from Dean Christianson with nine laps in the books and held off a hard charging Kevin Chaffee for the win as the two flew through traffic. Chaffee was a strong second with “Flatfoot” Joe Krawiec third, Ray Miller fourth and Scott Holcomb fifth.

Louie Cadwell ran to victory in the Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupe division. Cadwell used the extreme outside groove to power into the lead and then fend off numerous challenges throughout the 30-lap event. Jeremy Beckley finished in the runner up spot with Terry Williams third. Kane Pike and Tom Placey completed the top five.

Lebanon, NH hot shoe Jason Giguere remains undefeated in the Laquerre’s Sports Limited Late Model division by winning his fifth consecutive Feature Saturday night. Rookie Brandon Gray was second with Brian Chaffee third.

Saint Johnsbury Center, VT’s Kevin Harran took his first win of the season in the Weglarz Property Service Fast Fours. He was followed across the line by Tim Martin and Steve Bell.

Stan Otterman won the 20-lap KDD NAPA Auto Parts Hornet feature with an aggressive last lap pass. The Hornet class saw three- and four-wide racing throughout the event, along with some bumps and bangs, including a few by the winner. Brent Warren finished second with Mike Ryan, who led the majority of the event, third.
