Cory Cleary Joining Seekonk Pro Stock Field – YankeeRacer.com

Cory Cleary Joining Seekonk Pro Stock Field

Cory Cleary of Plymouth, MA will make his first Pro Stock start of the season at Seekonk Speedway tonight. Cleary has experience in NEMA Midgets and Pro Four Modifieds. In the Pro Four Modifieds, Cleary finished fifth in points in 2009. He has wins at Seekonk and Waterford.

The grandson of four-time track champion and NEAR Hall of Famer Leo Cleary, Cory credits his family getting his career started. “(I) got into racing just from my dad and grandfather,” Cleary said. “The two of them have helped me a ton. If it weren’t for the two of them we probably wouldn’t have gotten into it. … Dino from Japanese Motors has helped us tremendously throughout the years in the Pro 4 Modifieds.”

Cleary will drive Brian Peazey’s white #63. “Leo pretty much put it together for me,” Cleary said. He has two Pro Stock starts, but “only did a few laps each time.”

Despite a lack of sponsorship, Cleary is optimistic. “I’m hoping it goes pretty good!”

“Our goal for the first few races is just to finish and get some seat time, Cleary said. “We’re going to start off running every other weekend and go from there.”
