Frank Duquette to Make Seekonk Sport Truck Debut

‘The Duque’ Looking to Add Sport Truck Win

Frank Duquette of Fall River, MA will return to the driver’s seat at Seekonk Speedway Saturday night. He will be driving in the Sport Truck division for the first time. Duquette will pilot Ron Cornell’s #92 Chevrolet for the rest of the season. The sponsors for 3G Racing are LaCava Brothers Auto Parts, YesWeCanRepair.com, ACME Sanitary Service Chevrolet.

The deal originated a few weeks ago at Seekonk through Facebook. “I sent him a message on Facebook during a late model caution,” Cornell said. “We never met until last night.”

“I’ve never met Ronny before and two Saturdays ago he messaged me at night and asked if I would be interested in racing his truck and I said I would love to!,” Duquette said. “Then we got to know each other a little better and things have just gotten better every day.”

“He wants me to run every week,” Duquette said. “I hope I can hang with the big boys. This is my first time in a truck. … (I) can’t wait to go back racing.”

“My goal is to run as much as we can with the truck and I’m going to race a few southern Late Model races in between (at Dillon and Myrtle Beach, SC),” Duquette said. “I would love to race the truck every weekend but I have a couple vacations this summer, so I will have to miss a race in July and one in August”

Already a winner in the Street Stocks and Late Models in his career, Duquette will look to add a Sport Truck win to his resume. He called it, “Very important and I hope it happens,” Duquette said. “That would be so awesome. I just hope I can get the job done.”

“I asked for a win,” Cornell said. “He seemed rather confident that we would have more than one.”

Cornell does not plan to return to driving until next year. “It’s a pain swapping the seat and taking all the lead back off and on,” Cornell said. “I probably won’t be back in it until next season.”
