Rain Ends Canaan Dirt After Qualifying

CANAAN, NH — Racing at Canaan Dirt Speedway came to an abrupt halt just as qualifying was wrapping up on Dale Hammond Heating night, as monsoon rains dumped over three inches of water in less than an hour forcing cancellation of the balance of activities. Monster Trucks, Thrasher and the Green Mountain Monster attempted to thrill the crowd in the rain but were forced to pull the plug for safety reasons. The fans were each given a special bracelet so that they could attend the following night’s show featuring the Monster Trucks, or next Friday’s show which will see double features for the Super Streets and Bombers. The Modifieds will run double features on Friday, July 12th.

Racing resumes on Wednesday, July 3rd at 7pm as Casella Waste Management, KIXX 100.5, and Noise “R” Us Fireworks, presents the Independence Day celebration event featuring Modified Twin 20’s paying $1,000 to win, SCoNE 360 Sprint Cars, Super Streets and Bombers. Fireworks will wrap up the night. Wednesday night admission prices will be Adults $14, Jr. & Sr. $12, Kids 11 & under free. Post time is 7pm. The rain date for Wednesday night will be Thursday night, July 4th, at 7pm. Then on Friday night, July 5th Family Pharmacy presents family night as Adults will pay just $8 admission, Jr. & Sr. will pay just $6 and Kids 11 and under will be free.
