Noll Takes Victory at Monadnock Speedway

WINCHESTER, NH — Duane Noll wasted no time this past Saturday night at the Monadnock Speedway as he took down his second victory of 2013. The defending series champion took the lead early from Tony Lafo and held off Chris Correll, on a late race restart, to take down the victory.

Lafo would start on the pole and lead the field down to the green flag in his Higganum Heating #151 Ford with Noll right alongside in his Sparkling Angels Cleaning Service #2 Chevrolet. Lafo would lead the first two laps before drifting high in turn three and opening the door for Noll to get by. Correll would follow Noll into second with his Hooter Sponsored #7 dropping Lafo to third. DJ McGouran would move into the fourth spot in the #73 with Pete Cayer rounding out the top five in truck #5. The field would remain the same through the half-way point of the race. The first caution flag of the race would waive on lap 14 as McGouran would hit the wall with the back of his truck exiting turn #2. With only minor bumper damage, McGouran would rejoin at the rear of the field. On this restart, Noll would now have Correll right alongside as the two former champions would now get to battle for the win. As the green waived, Noll got the jump with Correll tucking in for second. Lafo third and Glen Noll would now move into fourth with truck #72. Correll would make a run with two laps to go heading into turn three but it wasn’t enough as Noll would hold on for the win. Correll had to settle for second followed by Lafo, G. Noll and McGouran.

The next race for the New England Truck Series will be on Saturday July 20th at the Monadnock Speedway in Winchester New Hampshire as we head there for race #6 and the Christmas in July program.
