Amy Houde Takes Ladies Feature & Series Title

HERMON, ME — Amy Houde of Howland started the Ladies 25 lap series race #3 on the pole at Speedway 95 Wednesday night and led all the way to the checkers, winning her second feature in a row and capturing the overall win in the three race series. Danielle Beal of Hampden finished the race in second, but had just recently returned to racing so was not in the race for a series position. Rhonda Wilbur of Hermon was third in the night’s feature and finished second overall in the series. Third in the series but not racing in the feature was Erin Evans of Milo.

Jim Carr Jr. of Clifton was the winner of the Sinclair Towing Service pick- up truck feature, but it was only due to bad luck on the part of Levant’s Jason Haskell. Haskell had fought side by side with Carr for 15 laps, until taking the lead for good on lap 15. On lap 20, as Haskell was rounding turns 3 and 4 heading for his first win of the season, a wheel came loose on his truck, spinning him off the raceway and allowing Carr to pass for the win. Doug Sinclair of Hermon finished in second, followed by Jeff Overlock Jr. of Hermon in third, Dana Harlow of Bucksport in fourth and Haskell finishing in fifth.

Alvin MacNevin of Clifton led from the pole to the checkers in the caution free Big Enduro feature with his brother Shawn MacNevin of Hudson finishing second. Third went to Shawn Racila of Dover-Foxcroft with his team mate, Duane Dunifer of Carmel in fourth. Fifth went to last week’s winner Roger Smith of Clifton.

Garett Hayman of Milford won the Little Enduro feature after passing second place finisher Darren Durrell of Newburgh on lap 6 of the 20 lap event. Third went to Travis Beale of Hampden with his wife, Danielle Beal finishing fourth. Rick Gomm of Dixmont was fifth.

William McCullough of Kenduskeag won the Stars of Tomorrow feature with Newburgh’s Dustin Durrell in second. Third went to Trey Brown of Winterport with last week’s winner Dylan Street of Milford in fourth. Kyle Moore of Frankfort was fifth.

Only one more Wacky Wednesday show remains for the 2013 season on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:00. On Wednesday August 28, Speedway 95 presents the annual demolition derby and Jim “Crash” Moreau stunt show, beginning at 7:00.
