DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour returns to Caraway Speedway on Sunday, Sept. 8. Below is a statistical look at the recent performance of the tour and selected drivers at Caraway, as well as some other statistical trends:
Caraway Race Setup
• The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour heads to Caraway Speedway for its fourth of five visits this season. George Brunnhoelzl III has dominated recent tour competition at Caraway, winning six of the past nine races.
• Brunnhoelzl has a 16-point lead in the championship standings over Kyle Ebersole, who has gained momentum with his first career tour win on Saturday night at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va.
NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour At Caraway Speedway
• The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour has made 46 visits to Caraway Speedway, including three previous events earlier this season.
• Caraway Speedway is a .455-mile oval near Asheboro, N.C., that boasts 13 degrees of banking in the corners with nine degrees of banking on the straightaways.
• The 46 tour events have resulted in 11 different winners. With his 10 wins, George Brunnhoelzl III has the most tour victories at Caraway. He won two of the three visits to Caraway this season.
• There have been seven different Coors Light Pole Award winners at Caraway. Brunnhoelzl and Burt Myers are tied for the most, with 12 each.
• Brunnhoelzl has led the most laps of tour competition at Caraway, running out front for 1,143 circuits.
• Brian Loftin has the most top-five finishes in the tour at Caraway, with 26.
• Jason Myers has the most tour top-10 finishes at Caraway, with 34. His brother, Burt, is second on the list with 33.
