QUALIFYNG: Seuss Wins Caraway Pole
Two In A Row For Veteran; Ninth In Career
ASHEBORO, N.C. – Andy Seuss won the Coors Light Pole Award in NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour qualifying for the Caraway 150 on Sunday at Caraway Speedway.
Seuss of Hampstead, N.H., made his way around the .455-mile oval in 15.855 seconds for an average speed of 103.311 mph on the first of his two qualifying laps. It’s the second straight pole win for the driver of the No. 11 Tammie Davis/Phoenix Pre-Owned Chevrolet having picked up his first of the season on Aug. 31 at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va., and the ninth of his tour career.
John Smith will start alongside Seuss on the front row after posting a 15.903-second for an average speed of 102.999 mph.
The second row for the Caraway 150 will consist of Tim Brown, who posted a time of 15.912 seconds (102.941 mph), and Jason Myers with a time of 15.959 seconds (102.638 mph).
Kyle Ebersole, points leader George Brunnhoelzl III, Danny Bohn, Gary Putnam, Burt Myers and rookie Luke Fleming rounded out the top-10 qualifiers.
The Caraway 150 is expected to get underway at approximately 7 p.m. ET
