3rd Annual Lincoln Tech 80 Takes Center Stage this Friday Sept. 13th

Stafford Springs, CT — The Valenti Modified Racing Series returns this Friday night, September 13th, to Stafford Speedway for the 3rd Annual Lincoln Tech 80. Lincoln Tech enters its third season as the title sponsor of the VMRS event and their fourth season as a title sponsor at SMS. Lincoln Tech began their relationship with SMS as the sponsor of the Late Model 100 during the 2010 season, which was won by Woody Pitkat. After the VMRS debuted with one event at Stafford in 2010, Lincoln Tech shifted their sponsorship to a second VMRS event at Stafford. Lincoln Tech will offer a special bonus to the first 600 race fans that come through the admission gates with a free Lincoln Tech drawstring bag.

“This will be our fourth season at Stafford and our third year sponsoring the MRS race,” said Rob Wargo, Eastern Connecticut High School Admissions Reps for Lincoln Tech. “We’re pleased to once again be part of the race program at Stafford and we’re looking forward to seeing some exciting action on the track. We’re going to be giving away a Lincoln Tech drawstring bag to the first 600 fans that come through the gates and we’re excited to meet all the race fans!”

In addition to handing out the drawstring bags, Lincoln Tech will have a display on the midway showcasing the various career paths they have to offer prospective students. Lincoln Tech has been able to recruit several officials, drivers, and crew members from their involvement with Stafford as students and Wargo says that the VMRS race has been a great tool to use in recruiting new students to the East Windsor campus of Lincoln Tech.

“Sponsoring this race is great exposure for us and it’s an easy way for us to be able to branch out with drivers, crew members, and fans to recruit them as students,” said Wargo. “Rich Keator, who is the starter at Stafford, is a Lincoln Tech grad and DARE Stock driver Kris Fluckiger is an honors grad from Lincoln Tech. Late Model driver Cory Casagrande and one of Cory’s crew members, Andre are both current students. In addition to Cory and Andre, we also have Matteo, who is a crew member on Kris Fluckiger’s car, as one of our current students. We’ve enjoyed a great partnership with Stafford and this is a program that I hope we can continue for future seasons.”

As Lincoln Tech is gearing up for a new semester, they will be hosting an open house at their East Windsor location on Saturday, October 5th from 9am-12pm. Prospective students can RSVP with Rob Wargo for the open house by calling 860-627-4300.

“Students have to RSVP with me for the open house on October 5th, which is a great opportunity for potential students to see everything that we have to offer here at Lincoln Tech,” said Wargo. “We will host a campus tour, live demos showcasing all seven disciplines of our curriculum, career services briefs, and offer a housing tour of our dorms, which are located at our Hartford campus location.”
