PRACTICE: Santos Tops NHMS Chart
Fastest In F.W. Webb 100 Practice
LOUDON, N.H. – Bobby Santos led NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice Friday morning at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in advance of the F.W. Webb 100.
Santos, from Franklin, Mass., post a fast lap of 29.175 seconds (130.550 mph) around the 1.058-mile oval. Santos has yet to win in 14 previous starts at New Hampshire, but will vie for his second pole at the track later today with qualifying slated for 5 p.m.
Winner of the last two Whelen Modified Tour events in Loudon, Doug Coby finished second on the speed chart during the 95-minute session at 29.284 (130.064). A two-time winner in his own right at NHMS, Todd Szegedy ranked third at 29.290 (130.038).
Ted Christopher, Donny Lia, Bryon Chew, Eric Berndt, Cole Powell, Ron Silk and Rowan Pennink brought home the top 10 in practice.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman ranked 11th in F.W. Webb 100 practice while Whelen Modified Tour championship points leader Ryan Preece was 14th.
Two casualties during the session were Pennink and Justin Bonsignore. Pennink crashed into the wall in Turn 4, but was able to return to the track with minor repairs while Bonsignore had to change engines.
The F.W. Webb 100 is slated to take the green flag on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. Live television coverage begins on Fox Sports 2 at 12 p.m.
