PRACTICE: Ebersole Leads At SNMP
Fastest Across Two Practices In G-Oil 150 Make-Up
LUCAMA, N.C. – Kyle Ebersole topped the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour field in G-Oil 150 practice Saturday at Southern National Motorsports Park.
Ebersole, from Hummelstown, Pa., recorded a fast lap of 14.627 seconds (98.448 mph) in the second of two practices Saturday afternoon at the high-banked .4-mile oval. Ebersole, who finished seventh in his first appearance at Southern National in the spring, will roll off tonight in the fifth starting position.
Following Ebersole on the speed chart in final practice was JR Bertuccio at 14.693 (98.006) and season points leader George Brunnhoelzl III at 14.828 (97.114).
Saturday’s first practice was led by Brunnhoelzl III at 14.799 (97.304), followed by Ebersole at 14.805 (97.264) and Bertuccio at 14.864 (96.878).
The G-Oil 150 starting grid was set by qualifying on the original race date of Sept. 21. Burt Myers was the Coors Light Pole Award winner and will lead the field to green tonight at approximately 8 p.m.
Myers finished first practice ranked fourth and was fifth-fastest in final practice. Myers won the spring Southern National race and also has a victory there from the 2008 season.
Myers will be joined on the front row tonight by Andy Seuss who was sixth on the board in the first session and seventh in the second run.
