NETS Names Chris Austill as New Race Director

Chris Austill has seen the action from the driver’s seat and the official’s booth, but in 2014 he will take on a new role as New England Truck Series Race Director. Austill has been an official with NETS for the past four seasons, and steps up to replace Mark Woodcock, who had held the position since 2012. The change takes place immediately, and Austill expressed excitement about the new position. “It’s a great time to be involved with the New England Truck Series. We’re expanding and visiting new tracks this year, and I’m thrilled to be a bigger part of helping this series grow and put on even better racing for the fans.”

“Chris is an asset to the series and we’re really lucky to have him. I think he’s ready to step up into bigger shoes and help our series really grow,” said series director Lorraine Pard. “He has a lot of experience behind the wheel and with us as an official, so he was a natural choice for the position.”

Woodcock elected to step down as Race Director, citing time constraints and other commitments. “I would like to deeply thank New England Truck Series and Lorraine for this great job opportunity to serve as the Race Director for the last couple of years. The knowledge and job experience I have received will never be forgotten.”

“I’d also like to thank Mark for his hard work and dedication as Race Director over the past two seasons,” said Pard. “We’ve made a lot of gains under his leadership. I’m happy that he will be staying with us as an official, and I’m certain he will continue to serve as a great resource for the series in the future.”
