Chase Dowling Moving to SK Modifieds Full-Time at Stafford

New Number, Division for 2013 SK Light ROY, Runner-up

Chase Dowling of Roxbury, CT will be driving the #57 Dowling Motorsports SK Modified® at Stafford Motor Speedway in 2014. S&S Asphalt Paving Company of Southbury, All About You Homecare Services, and Carragan Heating and Air Conditioning, LLC. of Watertown will Dunleavy Truck & Trailer Repair will return to support Dowling  next season. Dowling’s team will use the former #15 car that he raced in 2013 with a Billy the Kid engine.

“(I) talked to all the sponsors and all came together and said that SK (Modified®) at Stafford would be the way to go,” Dowling said. “The team and I (agreed that) we’re ready to move up. We have the sponsors and the crew guys that are willing to help every week, so there wasn’t a reason not to move up.”

Dowling has realistic goals entering next season. “Definitely try to get a win and Rookie of the Year. We said the same thing going into the SK Light division but ended up with seven wins. But of course SK is a lot harder and better competition so I would be happy with a win and Rookie of the Year.”

Dowling began last season as a rookie at Stafford Motor Speedway. He won his first SK Light Modified race on Spring Sizzler weekend in April. By the end of the 18 race season, Dowling led the division with seven victories, 13 top-5s, and 16 top-10s. Dowling claimed Rookie of the Year honors and finished second in standings, missing the championship by four points.

“Nothing to hang my head about and my crew deserves it. We worked hard as a team and I’m glad I got the job done for them. Awesome to be Rookie of the Year and have the most wins. Something that every team wants to have is a season we had. (I) can’t be ashamed of (it). There is not one thing we can go back on and say ‘Well we could of did that better,’ because everyone gave 110% ever week and the results show. Awesome year.”
