The debut of a new, all-star shootout event for the NASCAR Whelen Modified National and Southern series; the return of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East; and the battle for the Camping World RV Sales 301 pole will create one of the biggest and most diverse pole days on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule on Friday, July 11, 2014 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Long known as the “Super Bowl” venue for the exciting NASCAR Whelen Modified Series, the Magic Mile will be the stage for the inaugural $25,000 shootout event. The special event will feature 20-24 cars, representing previous winners and champions from the national and southern touring series along with the 2013 Sunoco Rookies of the Year for both tours. The 25-lap race will pay $4,000 to win and $800 to start in the $1,000-lap shootout.

“This promises to peg the excitement meter,” said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. “The NASCAR Whelen Modifieds are always one of the most popular and exciting races of the weekend. This gives a majority of the competitors two big days of racing and what I think will be the best pole-day card at any NASCAR track. We think this will really give the fans more bang for their buck.”

More competition-related information, including the format of the race, will be announced at a later date, according to NASCAR officials. It’s expected that anywhere from 20-24 cars will be in the field.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will run a 100-lap race immediately following NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying. The series has served as an excellent development program, launching the careers of Joey Logano, Austin and Ty Dillon to name a few.

The July NASCAR race weekend will also feature the New Hampshire 100 for the NASCAR Whelen Modifieds and New England 200 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series on Saturday, July 12 followed by the Camping World RV Sales 301 Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, July 13.

Pole Day tickets may be purchased in advance for $10. In addition, all Camping World RV Sales 301 event weekend tickets are on sale now. Go to NHMS.com or call (603)- 783-4931 for more ticket information.
