NEMA Midgets to Wiscasset
First NEMA Midget Appearance Since 1972
WISCASSET, ME — Saturday June 7th, 2014 Wiscasset Speedway will take “speed” to a whole new level as (North Eastern Midget Association) NEMA Midgets & NEMA Lites take to the high-banks of Maine’s fastest track. It will mark the series first appearance at the coastal speed plant and Wiscasset track promoter Ken Minott says that track records may be in jeopardy. “We’re very excited to bring NEMA to Wiscasset. This will showcase some of racing’s quickest cars on Maine’s fastest track. It’ll be a special treat for our fans.”
The NEMA Midgets are compact winged racecars with a very high power to weight ratio. With up to 400 horsepower and weighing approximately 1,000 pounds, Midgets are among the fastest cars on oval tracks ½ mile and under. For years Midget racing has played a significant role in the development of some of the nation’s finest and most successful drivers. More info is available at www.nemaracing.com.
