Waterford Speedbowl to Honor 2013 Track Champions Saturday
Annual awards ceremony will be held at Groton Inn & Suites
Waterford, CT — Waterford Speedbowl is set to honor its 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track champions this Saturday evening at Groton Inn & Suites, located in Groton, CT. In addition, champions from the track’s other Saturday night racing series will be celebrated. Over 400 guests and nearly 70 race teams are expected to be represented.
Drivers and race teams in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified®, Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Model, Street Stock, Mini Stock and SK Light Modified divisions will receive awards from the Speedbowl, NASCAR, and track sponsors. The Speedbowl’s Saturday Legend Cars series will also be recognized, along with the Bandolero, Super X-Car and X-Car Saturday Showdown titlists. Guests of honor at Saturday’s banquet include the respective track champions from each division.
Special awards for the Top Rookie Driver, Sportsman of the Year, Most Improved Driver and Pit Crew of the Year will be named in the five NASCAR divisions along with the track’s Saturday Legends Cars series. Highlights from the 2013 season – the Speedbowl’s 63rd consecutive year of operation – will be shared and the 2014 event schedule will be announced to those in attendance.
Cash tickets are available for purchase at the door on Saturday at $45.00 per person. Admission includes a plated dinner and awards ceremony followed by an evening of entertainment and dancing. Cocktail hour begins at 6:00pm, with dinner and awards beginning at 7:00pm. Groton Inn & Suites is located at 99 Gold Star Highway (Route 184) in Groton, CT.
