10Th Anniversary Roc Dirt Modified Tour Season ro Get Underway March 14th and 15th

BINGHAMTON, NY…The Ice Breaker VII Weekend will take place at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Friday, March 14th and 15th. Once again the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour will be center stage on both Friday and Saturday. This year for the first time the Race of Champions Dirt Sportsman teams will get an opportunity to tackle one of the fastest dirt ovals in the entire northeast.

The Race of Champions Dirt Sportsman Tour will run in a 20 lap event on Saturday paying a minimum of $1,200 to win. This will mark the first time that the Sportsman stars have had the opportunity to compete at the Selinsgrove Speedway. Their first time will be part of one of the biggest early weekends of racing in the northeast.

On Friday evening the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Small Block teams will do battle with at 25 lap feature event. There will be hot lap sessions for both the RoC Big Block Modified teams and the Sportsman teams on Friday as well.

Saturday will feature the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour in a 40 lap feature event along with the first ever appearance of the RoC Sportsman. There should be a big field of the top northeast Sportsman teams in competition for the RoC Tour lid lifter.

The weekend will have other big significance as well. Friday will serve as the 100th Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour event since its inception 10 years ago. The 100th event was originally slated for Five Mile Point Speedway in the fall but was washed out. The Friday event will also mark the 10th Anniversary of the Race of Champions Modified Tour. The first 100 fans entering the grandstand on both Friday and Saturday will get an official Race of Champions embroidered hat to kick off the 10th Anniversary season.

Ice Breaker VII Event Promoter Joe Kaminski is excited about the edition of the RoC Sportsman teams to the event. “We have talked about adding the RoC Sportsman in years past but felt that this would the perfect year to make it happen.” “It is hard to believe this will already be the seventh edition of this event and we are excited to be working with the Race of Champions Tours again this year.”

Race of Champions Tour Director Andrew Harpell remarked, “The past nine years have been amazing with our tour and we are ready for what will be a great tenth anniversary season.” He added, “We are very proud of the great RoC events that have taken place over that stretch and preparing for the 100th RoC Dirt Modified Tour event is such a landmark occasion.” “It will be great to hold the 100th event at Selinsgrove Speedway, Track Operator Charlie Paige has made the facility one of the top in the northeast.”

The complete Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour schedule is just about finalized along with the Sportsman and Street Stock tours. The RoC Sportsman Teams will also see another exciting addition to the tour in September this season with full details to be released next week. The seventh edition of the RoC Ice Breaker Weekend is March 14th and 15th at the Selinsgrove Speedway.
