ISMA Adds Airborne Speedway to 2014 Schedule

Oswego, NY — It has just been announced that after ongoing negotiations ISMA will return to Airborne Speedway in 2014 after a couple years hiatus. The winged warriors of speed had visited the Plattsburgh, NY half-mile in 2010 and 2011 with Russ Wood taking the inaugural 50-lap feature event in 2010 and in 2011, the multi-talented Ted Christopher took home the Airborne trophy.

While some of the particulars are still being worked out as to the number of feature laps to be run, the date for the Airborne ISMA event will be Saturday, May 24th, the second date in the month of May with ISMA’s opener coming on May 4 at the Oswego Speedway.

After the newly added Airborne date, ISMA heads back to the Oswego Speedway for a June 7 appearance and then it’s on to a rugged two-day affair which takes the ISMA competitors to Oxford Plains, Maine on June 20th and then up into Quebec for a June 21 75 lapper at Autodrome Chaudiere.

July begins with the third of four Oswego Speedway appearances as the King of Wings transpires on the 12th. The traditional Sandusky Hy-Miler weekend is slated for July 25 and 26th to round out the month.

August is a busy month for the ISMA organization with shows at Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire on August 8th followed by an August 9th run at Waterford Speedbowl in Connecticut. Then it’s north of the border to Delaware Speedway on the 15th and on the 16th the second visit to Sunset Speedway takes place. A rain date of August 17 has been set-aside in case either of the two aforementioned Ontario dates meets with foul weather.

Oswego Speedway’s ISMA Supernationals ends the month on the 30th with a 60-lap feature in combination with the traditional Oswego Classic Weekend.

Things slow down in September with another of the great traditions in supermodified racing, the annual Star Classic 150 that takes place on the 9th.

October finds ISMA ending their season once again at the Thompson Speedway World Series of Racing which takes place on the 18th and 19th of that month.

At this early date in 2014, it is safe to say that the ISMA schedule is still somewhat tentative so fans should be aware that other changes could take place before things are final.
