Brodie Kostecki & Team Arcoplate Ready for Bristol Motor Speedway Debut

No. 43 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Team Rolling Out New Car in “Thunder Valley”

There is no better place than “Thunder Valley,” Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, to get the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season kick-started for Brodie Kostecki. After finishes of 20th and 18th in the series’ first two events of the year, the 16-year-old Kostecki and his Arcoplate No. 43 team are ready to rebound at Bristol on Saturday, March 15 in the PittLite125.

The PittLite 125 will be the native Australian’s first race at the Tennessee half-mile, but he will have plenty of experience on his side with veteran NASCAR crew chief Doug George calling the shots.

“Our Arcoplate team is really excited to go to Bristol,” said Kostecki. “We started off ok at New Smyrna with a fourth-place qualifying effort and didn’t run too well in the race. Then we took what we learned and moved on to Daytona. We qualified seventh and ran in the top-five for the first half of the race, then we just got unlucky at the end. But, my crew chief Doug George has a lot of experience at Bristol so we’re all pumped and amped up to go there.”

The event will not only mark the debut for the No. 43’s driver at Bristol Motor Speedway, but the team will also unload a new car for the race.

“We’ve made a few changes in the car and the team, so everybody’s pretty excited. Bristol should be a lot of fun and a great place to get our season going in the right direction.”

THUNDER VALLEY TURNAROUND

Kostecki is looking to turn the 2014 season around after finishing 20th in the season-opening NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) last month, which was followed by a 18th-place finish two days later in the UNOH Battle at the Beach at Daytona International Speedway (FL).

QUICK IN QUALIFYING

Kostecki has proven to be solid in time trials in his first two events of the 2014 season. He qualified fourth in the season opener at New Smyrna and started seventh at Daytona.

BACK TO BACK

Saturday’s PittLite 125 starts off a seven-day span that includes two K&N East races for Kostecki. One week after Bristol, on March 22, Kostecki will be back in action in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event at Greenville Pickens Speedway in South Carolina.

TUNE IN

NASCAR Home Tracks Race Central Live powered by Speed51.com will have live lap-by-lap updates of the PittLite 125 during practice and qualifying Thursday as well as for the feature on Saturday via NASCARHomeTracks.com. The race will air on FOX Sports 1 on Saturday, March 22 at 11:30am ET.
