World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars at a Glance: Stockton Dirt Track

Californians aim to keep up momentum heading to FVP Western Spring Shootout

STOCKTON, Calif. – March 19, 2014 – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars will storm the Stockton Dirt Track for the second time in series history on Saturday night for the FVP Western Spring Shootout.

Californian Rico Abreu will be seeking his second consecutive win after he earned the first Outlaw victory of his career last Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway. Kyle Larson, Abreu’s friend and current NASCAR star, earned the victory at the inaugural World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event last year at the semi-banked, 3/8 mile oval.

Paul McMahan, whose roots are in California, owns the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship lead through the first eight races over the series’ previous two champions, Daryn Pittman and Donny Schatz.

· Saturday, March 22, at the Stockton Dirt Track. Racing begins at 7 p.m.

DASH TWIST: Beginning with Saturday night’s FVP Western Spring Shootout, the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will use a new format for the dash, which will be comprised of six cars. The dash will include the heat race winners plus the next fastest cars in qualifying that transfer from their heat to the A-main. The number of heat races will dictate the number of qualifiers that will join the dash, which will set the first three rows of the A-main.
