Armed Forces Foundation and Chevrolet Join TBR’s “Salute the Troops” Campaign

Huntersville, NC (May 13, 2014) – Tommy Baldwin Racing is pleased to announce they have partnered with the Armed Forces Foundation and Chevrolet to “Salute the Troops.”

The Armed Forces Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to supporting and advocating for active-duty military personnel, national guardsmen, reservists, military families, and veterans. The AFF returns 95 cents of every dollar raised to service members and their families through our programs. Since 2001, the AFF has provided more than $95 million in assistance by covering travel, hotel rooms, home mortgages, car payments and everyday bills for families to be able to stay at their loved ones’ sides during treatment and recovery from wounds suffered during war.

“I appreciate the sacrifice these men and woman make for our country, which allows our team the freedom to go racing,” said Michael Annett. “I’m honored to take part in this campaign recognizing the effort that our troops give.”

In addition to partnering with the Armed Forces Foundation, Chevrolet has also signed on to help give back to those who have sacrificed. Tommy Baldwin Racing is encouraging the effort through asking fans to write “Thank You” notes. Fans can participate by going to Chevrolet display stands located at the track, where they will have collection boxes set up. Fans can write and then drop their notes into the provided boxes.

Chevy is donating 60,000 minutes of calling time to our troops and 1,000 servicemen and women will be randomly selected to get a 60-minute calling card. The program, which kicks off with All-Star race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, will run through the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway in July on Independence Day weekend.

“I am excited to be partnering with the Armed Forces Foundation and Chevrolet for our upcoming “Salute the Troops” campaign. I think it is a great, easy, fun way for everyone to give back to our servicemen and women,” said Reed Sorenson, driver of the No. 36 TBR Chevrolet SS. “I think it’s awesome that Chevy has joined us, and is going to donate calling cards. I hope the fans stops out at the displays sometime during the race weekends, and sign a letter to help us make this a success.”

“I’m very proud of our team for their support of the Armed Forces Foundation,” said team owner Tommy Baldwin. “Saying thank you is something we often take for granted and on behalf of TBR, we salute the men and women who have served our country.”

“We’re honored to partner with Tommy Baldwin Racing for the “Salute the Troops” initiative,” said AFF President Patricia Driscoll. “The NASCAR community’s commitment to our military is unprecedented in sports and a simple thank you goes a long way in honoring our nation’s finest men and women.”
