Mike Joy and Jack Arute to Announce SK Modified® Race June 27th
Stafford Springs, CT — Jack Arute and Mike Joy have confirmed that they will be on hand Friday, June 27th to call the SK Modified® feature. The duo was a Stafford Motor Speedway staple throughout the 1980’s calling some of the most famous modified races in Stafford history. Be sure to come out tomorrow night as Stafford Motor Speedway plays host to a full card of racing including a 15-lap charity go kart race with some of Stafford’s past champions.
Mike and Jackie will surely have an exciting race to call. Last week at Stafford 29 SK Modifieds® battled to fill 27 feature race starting spots. In the end, rookie sensation Chase Dowling held off defending SK Modified® champion Woody Pitkat for the win. The SK Modified® field is the deepest it has been in years; last week’s SK Modified® race had 15 past SK Modified® winners, 7 modified tour regulars, and 6 drivers also starting the Modified Racing Series event.
Late Models, SK Light Modifieds, Limited Late Models, DARE Stocks, the Champions for Charities Go-Kart race will be on track along with Fireworks lighting up the sky to end the night.
Fans can weigh in on which driver they would like to be the in-race reporter for the SK Modified® feature. Please log onto Stafford Motor Speedway’s Facebook and Twitter page to make your voice heard.
Come out to Stafford Motor Speedway tomorrow night for an action packed night of racing and to hear Mike Joy and Jack Arute relive the days of old and announce one of the most exciting divisions in the country, Stafford’s SK Modifieds®. #anybodycanwin #stackedfield #stafford2014
