ACT Point Leaders Lead Teams to International 300

Waterbury, VT – At the half-way mark of the 2014 race season, two of the best young stock car racing stars in the region, one from New Hampshire-Joey Polewarczky, Jr. (Pole) and the other from Quebec-Alex Labbe, will lead the way to the ACT Invitational at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, New York this Sunday, July 20. Both drivers also happen to be leading their respective ACT Tour and Série ACT in the US and Quebec.

Veteran Pole is finishing his best first half start of an ACT race season. He is also the defending Champion of the inaugural International and pocketed twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) for that effort in 2013.

“This is a great break at mid-season from chasing points on the Tour. Winning the first race was pretty cool for our team, but the competition gets tougher every year. We are having a little different format this year with the three segments being shortened. This kind of race takes as much luck as racing skill. The name of the game is to finish each segment in one piece. One bad segment means your chances of winning the $25,000.00 are pretty much gone. But then again there is $10,000 in lap money up for grabs, so you just keep digging,” said an enthusiastic Pole.

Labbe is in his second full season racing for the Quebec City Larue Brothers Racing. He is the defending Champion of the Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne. Labbe is one of the brightest new stars to emerge in a talented field of young ACT drivers who will be at Airborne. He will also lead a very potent group of racers from the Série ACT in Quebec.

“We had a pretty good finish at our race last weekend at Chaudiere and took back the point championship lead. Now we can have some fun at one of my favorite tracks. Airborne is fast and I always like to race with the ACT guys in the US. I know there will be lots of Quebec fans at Airborne for this show, and $25,000 will help us pay for the car we demolished at our opening race in Montreal this year. I can’t wait for the weekend”, said Labbe from his St. Albert home.

Advanced sale tickets for the event are available now from the ACT office. Sunday reserved seat tickets are just $35, adult general admission is $25 and kids (ages 6 to 12) are just $5. Saturday, July 19’s Black Cat Hell Drivers Thrill Show tickets are just $10 for adults, $3 for kids (ages 6 to 12) and $20 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 kids).
