ACT International Pit Notes

PLATTSBURGH, NY — Hometown favorite Brandon Atkins of Au Sable, New York led the way with the fastest time of the day during the American Canadian Tour’s practice in preparation for tomorrow’s (Sunday, July 20) ACT International 300 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY. He set a fast time of 17.191 seconds and topped the speed chart during several of the practice sessions.

Also among the fastest of the day were seven-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar, defending Série ACT Champion Jean-François Déry and fellow Série ACT frontrunner Alex Labbe. Defending ACT International winner Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. was also quick. Bobby Therrien, Ben Lynch, Jimmy Hebert, and Quebecer Jonathan Bouvrette also spent time at the top of the speed charts.

Former ACT and Serie ACT Champion Patrick Laperle fought some electrical issues throughout the day but still managed to put down some fast times in the final two practices. There were no other issues for any teams.

A total of 23 American Canadian Tour Late Models took advantage of the practice session. More are expected to attend the $25,000-to-win ACT International 300 tomorrow, Sunday, July 20. The ACT Late Models will be joined by the Airborne Sportsmen Modifieds, the Quebec ProCam Super Trucks and Thunder Road’s Tiger Sportsmen. Qualifying action is set to begin at 1:00pm. General admission is just $25 for adults and $5 for kids (ages 6 to 12). Reserved seat tickets are $35.

Saturday’s (July 19) activities will be capped off with tonight’s Black Cat Hell Drivers Thrill Show at 8:00pm.
