Rich For Racers, Fun For Fans: Georgetown Speedway Tuesday, August 26 ‘Beach Blast’ Shaping Up To Be True Event; Modified Payout Has Climbed To $29,905; Additional Lighting Secured For Inaugural Special; Numerous Giveaways Planned

GEORGETOWN, DE – Rich for the racers, fun for the fans: next Tuesday’s (Aug. 26) inaugural ‘Beach Blast’ at Georgetown Speedway is a true event.

The big-block/small-block Modifieds will power around the historic First State half-mile oval competing for a mammoth $29,905 total payout! Yes, $29,905 in cash plus other contingencies for 35 laps of racing in an event that now pays more than $5,000 to the winner, $1,400 for fifth, $1,000 for 10th and $500 just to take the green flag thanks to marketing partners Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply, Clearview Farms, Bi-Rite Auto Sales and American Portable Mini-Storage.

Not only is the $29,000-plus cash payout huge for Modified racing in the state of Delaware, it’s now become one of the season’s most lucrative events under the leadership of BD Motorsports Media LLC and driver Eric Kormann, who have teamed up to lease the track for the night.

Longtime car owner Glenn Hyneman, who will tow his Keystone Racing No. 126 to Georgetown with Pennsylvania star driver Duane Howard aboard, has been outspoken in support of the event on social media: “Got to love that Georgetown purse front to back. I hope race teams and fans support the show. If they don’t, promoters will not have the incentive to do more and we need more payoffs like this one.”

Crate 602 Sportsman will race 25 laps for a hefty $1,000 to win and $100 to start. Delmarva Chargers and Super Trucks, both participating in 12-lap features, have seen their winner’s share boosted to $200 each thanks to Manmiller Electric.

Competitors and fans alike will benefit from additional lighting for the “first time happening in the First State.” Three light towers have been secured and will be in place at the track for the ‘Beach Blast’ special.

CAT Country 97.5, Delmarva’s leading country station, will broadcast live from the speedway 4-6 p.m. on race day. The CAT Country van and prize wheel will be on location.

Dover International Speedway plans a presence at the ‘Beach Blast’ event. The Dover International Speedway pace car will be on hand for the special. An “enter-to-win” box, manned by Dover representatives, will offer the chance to win NASCAR Sprint Cup Series tickets for the AAA 400 at Dover Sept. 28. Two additional AAA 400 tickets will be offered as a second prize for the 50-50 drawing.

Two kids’ bicycles have been donated by Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz and Michael White Racing. They will be raffled off during the night.

Ms. Motorsports 2014 Cassi Pinder will make an appearance to meet fans and racers. She will be available for photos and will have custom posters available.

REAL Eyewear will be on the premises with their interactive trailer. They will also have giveaway items.

Bob Hilbert Sportswear has joined on as a ‘Beach Blast’ marketing partner. The first 100 fans through the front gate will receive complimentary water bottles. There will also be beach balls and Frisbees distributed to the crowd by the roving ‘Beach Babes’ during the show. Drivers in all divisions will receive a free shirt from Bob Hilbert Sportswear, as well.
