44th Annual Freedom 76 Modified Stock Car Classic Goes Off on Sept. 20 at Grandview Speedway, Sept. 27 Rain Date Set
BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 14, 2014 . . . With rain wiping out the date originally scheduled for the 44thAnnual Freedom 76 Modified Stock Car Classic at Grandview Speedway, the granddaddy of modified classics has been scheduled for Saturday, September 20with racing, featuring many of the top names in dirt track stock car racing, set to start at 7 p.m.
“Though we will lose a couple of drivers that had other events on their schedule we anticipate that we will attract a few others that now have the date open on their schedule,” said track owner Bruce Rogers. “We anticipate that there will be the same outstanding fan and racer interest that we had in the original date. It will be an exciting night of great stock car racing.”
Officials have announced the rain date will be Saturday, September 27th and if needed will follow the same schedule of events.
Expected to see action are many of the top names in the sport including Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren, guaranteed starter Danny Johnson, Keith Hoffman, Rick Laubach, and host of other visitors and regulars.
Things will get underway at 9 a.m. when pits open and tech inspection starts. Advance ticketholders will be admitted at 3 p.m. and the ticket office will be ready for business at 3:30 p.m. Warm-ups will start at about 6 p.m. with the green flag falling for racing action at 7 p.m.
Included in the night of racing will be a full slate of qualifying heat races, the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20, a $1,000 to win Cash Dash with the night topped off by the 44th Annual Freedom 76 Modified Classic which rewards the winner with $25,000.
Close to $60,000 in prize money has been posted along with lap money and other perks.
Adult admission is $35, while youngsters 6 through 12 pay just $10 and kids under 6 are admitted free. Pit admission is $45. Eliminated is the “rocks and other markers” reserving of spots in line at the ticket window. Entrance to the grandstand seating area will be first come first served in the advance ticketholder and in the general admission line.
Free parking is available on the speedway grounds along with parking, for a small fee, across the street. Camping spots are available but do not include any hookups.

Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, clay banked speedway, is located on Passmore Road, just off Route 100, in Bechtelsville, PA just 10 miles north of Pottstown.
