TRENTON, NJ, September 19, 2014 . . . NASCAR Asphalt Modified superstar Ted Christopher, many time American Three Quarter Midget Racing Association Midget champion Ryan Tidman and up and coming Modified Touring Series standout Patrick Emerling are among the first entrants for two weekends of Indoor Auto Racing action scheduled for Trenton and Atlantic City, N.J., and promoted by Len Sammons Motorsports Productions.
The Trenton Indoor racing program is set for the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton on Friday, December 19th and Saturday, December 20th are presented by PRC Industries.
The Atlantic City meet, highlighted by the ‘Gambler’s Classic’ in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall is set for January 30 and 31, 2015. NAPA AUTO PARTS will once again return as the title sponsor for the event. Tickets are now on sale for both of these races.
More than 25 entries have already been filed for the two race series, among the first wave of Three Quarter Midget competitors for both races are Indoor TQ specialist Matt Remick and full-size Midget and TQ Midget driver Matthew Roselli.
Fans who attended the first Sun Bank Center racing weekend, named “The Battle of Trenton,” in February of this year, will want to make their advance order race tickets early to obtain the best seats available. The fast TQ Midgets are once again the headline class.
“This is the perfect time to run an Indoor race,” said event organizer Len Sammons. “The outdoor season is over, Christmas is a week away, and racers and race fans are ready for one last race before the New Year. A great time to get together with your racing friends before the holiday season.”
Tickets for the event will be available at the Sun National Bank Center Box Office in Trenton or online at www.comcasttix.com or by calling 1-800-298-4200. Luxury suites are also available for Christmas parties by calling 609-656-3207.
For the first time ever a special “combo” ticket will be available giving attendees the option to purchase tickets to both nights of racing at a discounted price. As an added bonus those who purchase the combo will also receive access to a special Fanfest on Saturday night before the races.
“Our Fanfest in Atlantic City is immensely popular and we wanted to bring that experience to our loyal fans in Trenton,” stated promoter Len Sammons. “By offering the combo ticket we are able to reward attendees who attend both nights of racing with this added bonus and a discount at the same time. It also will allow us to control the number of people at the Fanfest.”
Five weeks later, Atlantic City’s historic Boardwalk Hall will be the site of the annual Gamblers Classic.
Auto racing inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City first began in 1938 when a series of Midget car races was held during the fall of that year.
In 2003, Len Sammons, publisher of Area Auto Racing News, perceived a need for and a value in resurrecting the Atlantic City Indoor racing traditions. Support divisions since 2003 include Legends Cars, Slingshots, Micro Stocks, and Champ Karts.
