Stafford Motor Speedway Releases its 2015 SK Modified® and SK Light Modified Rulebooks

Stafford Springs, CT — With the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season in the books, attention has already turned to the 2015 season.  In that vein, Stafford Motor Speedway has released the 2015 rulebooks for its two open wheel divisions, the SK Modifieds® and SK Light Modifieds.

The changes for both divisions from the 2014 to 2015 seasons are minimal.  In Stafford’s premier SK Modified® division, there are 4 rule changes.  Per rule 20E-3.2.3 Side Window Glass / Window Net, a flat windshield made of a minimum of 1/8” polycarbonate that extends from the left A-pillar to the #4A center windshield bar and from the roof to the cowl with a minimum of three Dzus type fasteners used on each of the four sides, is now mandatory.  The second rule change is rule 20E-6.5 Battery, with a 12-volt Gel or Glass Mat battery weighing a minimum of 17 lbs. is now mandatory.

The final two changes to the 2015 SK Modified® rulebook are actually mandatory changes that will be put into place for the 2016 season.  The first of these changes for the 2016 season is rule 20E-10.6 Rear Gear with a maximum final drive ratio of 4.71 being utilized in 2016.  The second change for the 2016 season is rule 20E-12.3 Coil Over Shocks which states that a spec shock will be introduced and put into place for the 2016 season.

Stafford’s SK Light Modified division also has minimal changes from the 2014 season.  The first rule change for the SK Lights comes in rule 20E-2.2 Overall Car Weight.  Any car running the “A” crate engine package will now be required to run at a minimum of 2,630 lbs. while cars using the “B” crate engine package will remain at a minimum of 2,650 lbs.  The second rule change for the SK Lights deals with the same rule as the SK Modifieds® for 20E-3.2.3 Side Window Glass / Window Net, a flat windshield made of a minimum of 1/8” polycarbonate that extends from the left A-pillar to the #4A center windshield bar and from the roof to the cowl with a minimum of three Dzus type fasteners used on each of the four sides, is now mandatory.  The final change for the SK Lights is also a carryover from the SK Modified® division regarding rule 20E-6.5 Battery, with a 12-volt Gel or Glass Mat battery weighing a minimum of 17 lbs. now being mandatory.
