Live Pay-Per-View Video Broadcast of Modifieds & More from Caraway

Sophia, North Carolina — The North-South Shootout is a destination event for fans of Modifieds, Super Late Model s and more. The November 1 event at North Carolina’s Caraway Speedway features cars, drivers, crews and fans from all over the map and has since its inception in 2003.

Now, as the event celebrates its 12th annual edition, more fans than ever will have the opportunity to witness the prestigious North-South Shootout.

51 TV, the live video broadcasting network from Speed51.com, will broadcast all of the racing action from the North-South Shootout on Saturday, November 1 for the passionate short track fans unable to make the trip to Sophia, North Carolina. The pay-per-view broadcast will bring the 12th Annual John Blewett II Memorial North-South Shootout Modified feature, the PASS South Super Late Models and more to a worldwide audience on 51 TV.

“Each year, we welcome more and more teams and fans from all over the country to the North-South Shootout, but this will be a great opportunity to bring the event to even more fans that can’t necessarily make it to the track,” said Darren Hackett, promoter of Caraway Speedway and the North-South Shootout. “We know there are a lot of passionate fans out there, especially for the Modifieds, and we want them to experience the North-South Shootout any way they can this year and hopefully return to the track next year.

Fans unable to attend the 12th Annual North-South Shootout on Saturday, November 1can purchase the live, multi-camera and professional broadcast of the event for $19.99. Sales for the pay-per-view broadcast of the North-South Shootout will open in the coming days.

A 200-mile blackout range from Caraway Speedway will be enacted for the event.

A who’s-who of Modified racing have taken victories in the North-South Shootout since its first running in 2003 at North Carolina’s Concord Speedway before moving to Caraway in 2011. Northampton, Pennsylvania’s Matt Hirschman leads the list with five Shootout victories. NASCAR Modified champions Donny Lia (2004), Burt Myers (2008 and 2009) and Ryan Preece (2009) have also visited victory lane at the North-South Shootout over the years. All winners followed the late John Blewett III there, as the New Jersey great won the inaugural North-South Shootout in 2003.

This year’s North-South Shootout live broadcast on November 1 will also feature the PASS South Super Late Models for a third-straight season. Longtime short track standout and North Carolina racer Jay Fogleman won the first edition of the PASS South North-South Shootout in 2012 and Maine legend Ben Rowe picked up the win in 2013.

Also part of the live 51 TV broadcast of the North-South Shootout will be the Modified last-chance races, USAC Midgets, the SouthEast Limited Late Models and Legends Cars. Plus, fans won’t want to miss the always-popular kids’ pedal car race, which will also air live on 51 TV.

The 12th Annual North-South Shootout event will feature the Modifieds as well as the PASS South Super Late Models, Southeast Limited Late Model Series, USAC Midgets, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Legends Cars. Shootout weekend kicks off on Thursday, October 30 with practice for all divisions at Caraway Speedway. Racing action gets underway on Friday, October 31 with qualifying and several feature events. The John Blewett III North-South Shootout feature will take center stage on Saturday, November 1along with PASS and more.
