Hispanic SCORE Buggy Winner to Compete in 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Championship with Team Stange Racing
Chicago, Illinois U.S.A. — ARCA’s Team Stange Racing announced today that they will campaign the number 22 Ford Fusion NASCAR K&N Car for SCORE BAJA Buggy winner Christian Celaya for the 2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series WEST Championship along with the K&N East’s NASCAR Speed weeks New Smyrna, Florida event. The pairing is sort of a homecoming for Celaya as he returns to Team Stange Racing where he participated in the team’s Driver Development program; “The Race to the Cup” (www.race2cup.com) and competed in the Herr’s Live Life With Flavor 200 ARCA race at Madison International Speedway in Wisconsin with Team Stange Racing where he started 24th due to heavy rains and no qualifying not to mention on a track that he has never driven on, practiced on or let alone seen; he drove the car home safely to a 16th place finish on one of the hottest days of summer with a heat index of 105 degrees and an in-car temp of well above 140 degrees and don’t forget Christian is a Type 1 diabetic.
“We chose the NASCAR K&N Pro Series WEST championship for a couple reasons, one reason was the series demographic made a lot of sense for my current sponsors being mainly on the West coast and secondly it will allow me to sharpen my skills racing on the short tracks with some of the world’s best drivers”, States: Christian Celaya Team Stange Racing and Christian Celaya are working on adding a handful of ARCA’s intermediate races such as: Chicago, Kansas, and Pocono to their program this season.
“I am delighted and very excited to have Christian Celaya back with us this season and I look forward to competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series Championship with Christian, I would also love to see Christian compete in some of ARCA’s intermediate races this season as well to prepare him for the big year we plan in 2016”. “I cannot say enough how proud I am of the progress Christian has made testing and working with us the past few months; he is very fast, safe, aggressive, smart and just has a great head on his shoulders.” Stated: John Stange, Jr. Co-Owner,
Team Stange Racing Team Stange Racing and Christian Celaya have a busy winter ahead of them as the team is building a fleet of cars with the new Five Star Composite Bodies and Christian will be busy training with his new physical trainer as well as promoting his new NASCAR K&N West program to potential partners and sponsors. “We are very excited; the 2015 racing season cannot start soon enough!” states Christian Celaya.
