Delaware Releases 2015 Schedule
2015 COMPETITION SCHEDULE RELEASED
Delaware, ON — Delaware Speedway’s season will start earlier and feature more events in 2015. The 26-event schedule will kick off on May 15 with the World’s Most Powerful Short Track Cars: The ISMA Super Modifieds and continue throughout the summer with a strong complement of touring series, classic favourite local series, and a number of new additions. Season passes for the summer are available immediately on the track website.
The World’s Most Powerful Short Track Cars Open the Season
The ISMA Super Modifieds are the world’s most powerful short track cars and this year they will have the special spot on the schedule as the season-opener. Super Modifieds have a rich history at Delaware Speedway and this season fans will have the chance to experience these earth-shakers and their dare-devil drivers twice. The earthquakes are scheduled for May 15 and August 21 as part of the Harvey Lennox Memorial Series.
OSCAAR Super Late Models Return
oscaarphotoOne of the most often frequently-asked-for divisions Delaware fans ask for each year to be included as part of the schedule is the OSCAAR Super Late Models. This season, fans and drivers alike will get their wish as the OSCAAR Outlaws hit the big half-mile of Delaware on July 10 along with the OSCAAR Open-Wheel Modifieds. The modifieds run a second time as part of the Great Canadian Race Weekend on September 18.
Signature King of the Hill Events
kothwebIn addition to the “traditional” King of the Hill events fans have come to know and love, this season there will be the added treat of a pair specialized events highlighting muscle cars and imports. All types of vehicles will still be welcome to participate on these nights, but there will be the addition of special prizing for the top finisher in the featured category of the night. There will also be an all-truck King of the Hill on July 17.
Weekday Thunder
In days-gone-by, weekday racing was common throughout Ontario. This season, Delaware Speedway will be bringing back this tradition with the new “Weekday Thunder” program. Weekday Thunder will run three dates, each of which will highlight a local racing class in new formats separate from the regular championship series. The details of this special Weekday Thunder program will be announced in the New Year.
The Legendary Enduro is Making a Comeback… With Different Cars.
bonestockwrongwayIn 2015 the existing Enduro Series will join with the V8 Stock Muscle Cars boosting the strength of the fast-growing class and the Bone Stock Chaos Cars will be known as the Bone Stock Enduro, having completed the transition of adapting their rules package to match the classic fan-favourite Enduro series of the mid 1990s. The speedway has made it a goal to see the series exceed 100 participants in the near future, aiming to match the fun and excitement of the original legendary Enduro series.
Introducing the United Late Models of Ontario
lm1This new program picks up on the momentum of last years APC Six Pack Series for the Pro-Late Models. Delaware Speedway will play host to the series twice: June 26 for the Canada Day Special and again as part of the Great Canadian Race on September 19.
