Kyle Crump Races His Way Into the Snowflake 100
Huntersville, North Carolina (December 9, 2014) – Brighton, Michigan native Kyle Crump made the trip south to Pensacola, Florida with big dreams of racing his way into the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway.
The Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 is a premier Pro Late Model event, taking place during Snowball Derby race weekend.
Crump, 19, qualified 35th, missing a guaranteed starting spot by just five positions. He started the 50-lap last-chance qualifying race in fourth position and finished in the same position, locking himself into the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100.
After racing his way into the big show, he started in 34th position and began to work his way forward before getting hit hard while trying to avoid a wreck ahead of him. The contact bent the rear end of the No. 7 Ford, and Crump’s day concluded early. Officially, Crump finished the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 in the 30th position.
“After an intense couple of days at Five Flags Speedway, I thought we had a pretty good car,” Crump said. “Although we have to race the Last Chance Qualifying race, we did make the race. However, a few laps we got ran over checking up for a wreck. Not the way I wanted to end the race, but we made the show, and that’s an accomplishment in its self.”
The No. 7 Kyle Crump Racing Ford carried sponsorship decals during the event from U.S. 27 Motorsports, Optima Batteries and TJ Racing Lubricants.
