Quin Houff Joins LFR Driver Development Team
17-year-old Virginia Driver to compete in CARS Super Late Model Tour
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 21, 2015) – The LFR Driver Development Group is proud to announce the addition of Quin Houff to the 2015 team. Houff is a Weyers Cave, Va., native and will drive the #17 Victory Weekend race car in the CARS Super Late Model Tour for LFR.
“I’m looking forward to having an entry in the CARS Tour, it’s going to be a great series and I’m excited we’ll have Quin in the driver’s seat for LFR,” said Rob Fuller. “Quin is one of our more experienced late model racers on the team and he brings a lot of talent to the table.”
Houff started his racing career at the age of eight racing go-karts. He won over 20 races in his first season taking home a championship and rookie of the year honors at his hometown track. At nine he moved up to Mini-Cup cars and earned a third place championship finish in his first season.
By 10 years old, Quin knew he wanted racing to be his career. He began racing Limited Late Models at the age of 13. As soon as he turned 14, he obtained his NASCAR license and won Rookie of the Year honors and a Top-10 championship points finish at Motor Mile Speedway.
“I’m excited to be a part of the LFR team because I see it as a great opportunity for my racing career,” said Houff. “I believe I will gain vast experience as a driver on and off the track this year that will help me throughout my entire career.”
In 2014, Houff won the UNOH Youth Achievement Award at Motor Mile Speedway along with another Top-10 in championship points. He has consistently finished in the Top-10 at both South Boston Speedway and Motor Mile Speedway and is now looking forward to this next step in his career.
“My goals for 2015 are to simply race to the best of my ability as well as represent LFR well,” continued Houff. “I believe with the combined effort we will have great results throughout the year and turn some heads along the way.”
The CARS Tour will include 10 races at tracks such as Southern National Motorsports Park, Concord Speedway, Motor Mile Speedway and Myrtle Beach Speedway.
“I’m excited to work with Quin and get to know him better,” said Jeff Fultz, LFR late model division coach. “He’s got a great resume and is a talented driver. I’m really looking forward to being a part of the CARS Tour this year – it’s an excellent series for late model drivers.”
