Tapley Named MRNETS Race Director, Austill Director of Competition
Scott Tapley has been named Race Director of the Mr. Rooter Truck Series for 2015.Tapley currently serves in the same position at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, New Hampshire. He is a former race director at the Waterford Speedbowl and former series director for the Valenti Modified Racing Series.
“There’s a lot of energy around this series going into 2015,” said Tapley. “The Mr. Rooter title sponsorship has created a huge, well deserved buzz around this series. I’m excited to come on board and help the series continue to grow.”
Chris Austill, who served as the series’ 2014 race director, has been promoted to Director of Competition, and will work with Tapley and the series’ existing officials to oversee the a busy 13 event schedule.
Series Director Lorraine Pard was excited about the changes. “Scott brings a lot of experience to the position,” said Pard. “With the exponential growth we’ve seen over the past two seasons it became obvious that we needed to reorganize and redistribute the workload. Scott was right there step up. He’s going to be a great asset to the officiating staff, and will allow Chris to work more closely with the officiating staff and our teams on race day.”
Competitors will have the opportunity to meet with series officials and discuss the upcoming race season at a competitors meeting to take place at the Racer’s Expo in Marlboro, MA. The meeting is scheduled for Saturday February 7th at 2pm in the Marlboro Room.
