Beaulieu to Pursue PASS North Series – YankeeRacer.com

Beaulieu to Pursue PASS North Series

Evan Beaulieu of Durham, Maine will try something different this season as he will run the first two Pro All Star Series (PASS) North Super Late Model races at Oxford Plains (ME) Speedway on Saturday April 18 and at Beech Ridge (ME) Motor Speedway on Saturday May 2. He will continue with PASS North if funding permits.

Beaulieu’s goals for this year are to win another race and be competitive against the best. “That’s why I want to run PASS,” Beaulieu said. “If you want to be the best you have to race against the best. There’s none better in Super Late Models than the PASS Tour.”

Beaulieu is working hard to get sponsorship. “Hopefully some of the deals will work out. I’m lucky to have a great sponsor like Hancock Lumber and they will be back with us.”

For Beaulieu to make the Oxford 250 would be a huge accomplishment. The August 30 race is one of short track racing’s premier events.

Beaulieu is optimistic about this year based on how last year ended. He finished 13th at Oxford in his second PASS North start.

“I’m excited with how we ended last year. It wasn’t the best season by any means, but we performed well in the PASS race and there’s some things we all need to work to run near the front, which I am sure we are capable of.”

Beaulieu drove his own No. 56 last season after two years with Dan McKeage. It was his first winless season. He finished 19th in Beech Ridge points with three top tens in 12 starts.

“We didn’t have the speed at the start of the year and once we started to turn it around luck wasn’t on our side. We were in more incidents then I’ve ever been in my career, but towards the end of the year we were much better and I’m ready for the new season. We learned a lot.”

Beaulieu believes his team is always learning. “I’m lucky to have experienced guys like Donnie Myers that helps us, but our crew is mostly my friends and my father (Todd). We are all learning together.”

The PASS North Super Late Models will kick off their 2015 season on Saturday April 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway with the ACT Tour Late Models.
