Consistency Key for Dumas
Dennis Dumas of Nashua, NH will return to the Hobby Stocks at Lee (NH) USA Speedway. His goals for the year are to have fun, be consistent, and win races. Dumas will keep the same paint scheme on his Malibu this year.
Dumas finished second in points last season with five wins. He also received the Most Improved Driver Award. Patrick Tanguay has won the last two championships at the 3/8-mile oval.
The inaugural North East Street Stock Tour (NESST) season will run twice at Lee. An exhibition race for the Tri-Track Open Modified Series is May 17 with a points race on July 31.
Dumas would need to make a lot of changes to his Hobby Stock to compete in the NESST. “That (is) maybe something to look forward to after the point races at Lee are over,” Dumas said.
With racing being a family sport, Dumas always has his family and friends supporting him at the track every week as he feels he could not do it without their support. Dennis’s wife Amy is always by her husband’s side in any decision that has to be made. Dennis’s two children Aubrey and Kyle love going to the track with him. In addition to Fridays at Lee, they usually visit another track on Saturdays.
Dumas said that sponsors are hard to come by. “In this day and age a lot of businesses can’t afford to sponsor a racecar. I am grateful for the ones I have and I’m always looking for more.”
Lee USA Speedway will kick off their season with the Governor’s Cup 150 for the American Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models on Sunday April 12. The first NASCAR Whelen All American Series points race at Lee is Friday night May 29.
