MRNETS Part of Icebreaker Weekend
The Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series will have its season opener during Icebreaker weekend at Thompson (CT) Speedway Motorsports Park. The series will visit seven other venues in a 16 race season: Bethel, Hudson, Lee USA, Monadnock, New-London Waterford, Stafford, and Star.
The New England Truck Series announced during the banquet in January that Mr. Rooter would become the title sponsor for the series. Mr. Rooter owner Vin Beedle jumped at the opportunity when the series needed some help. He has a passion for the sport and feels it’s important to support it.“I’ve always been a fan of the truck series,” Beedle said. “I actually owned a truck out west. When I saw the opportunity, they needed some help. It’s all going to be nothing but good coming out of this. I think we’re going to have fun.”

Thompson will host the series’ inaugural road course race and the season finale. The Stock Car Road Race Challenge will include the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour, North East Street Stock Tour, and the Thompson Speedway Mini stock division on September 11-12. The series will hold a test on the road course on Saturday May 9.
“Once they (the teams) got over the initial shock, all the interest started coming out.” promoter Lorraine Pard said.
Saturday’s program will include practice, qualifying heats, and a 20-lap feature for the Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series.
