Stoehr and Greenzweig to be inHooseir Tire ATQMRA Competition at Mahoning
NEMA Midget Star Avery Stoehr and Karting and Micro Stock stand out Alex Greenzweig will be in competition at the ATQMRA opener at Mahoing Valley Speedway Saturday April 25th. Stoehr will be in the Alan Mollot 51 with Greenzweig in the Bangor Steel 17.
NEMA Midget Star Avery Stoehr of LakevilleMass. will be behind the wheel of the Alan Mollot 51 at the ATQMRA opener at Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton, Pa. Stoehr earned two feature wins in NEMA midget competition in 2014 and finished the season second in points to perennial NEMA championship contender Randy Cabral.
Stoehr will be making his second ATQMRA start after running the season ending Turkey Derby in the Lou Cicconi owned Micro Sprint. He turned some ultra fast laps in route to a sixth place finish. Stoehr raced the same car indoors for Cicconi at the Battle of Trenton and the Gambler’s Classic in Atlantic City.
The Pairing of Stoehr in the Alan Mollot 51 Badger will be an all New England Affair. The iconic 51 car is a Lindblad Badger constructed by Northbridge Massachusetts master craftsman Rollie Lindblad. It is one of the most successful TQ midgets ever built. The car has won races with countless drivers over the years and holds current overall track records at several tracks. Stoehr will be running the 51 when his NEMA schedule permits and will be sharing time in the car with fellow NEMA star Joey Payne.
Stoehr should be able to quickly adapt to the Mahoning Valley Circle since the line around Mahoning closely resembles that of Seekonk Speedway in Mass. where the NEMA Midgets frequent. Stoehr posted a third place finish in the Boston Louie at Seekonk in 2014.
Alex Greenzweig will be in the Pat VanVarrick 17 Hyper Hugger TQ midget for the first time at MahoningValley. It will mark his first start in a high horsepower TQ Midget. Greenzweig is a highly successful Kart and Micro Stock racer with wins at MahoningValley in Micro Stock competition. He will be racing the same car that Rob Vivona racedin the Gambler’s Classic in Atlantic City and last season at Borgers Speedway to a feature win and a third place points finish in that tracks season ending Octoberfest.
