More Championship Chase Action Saturday at DCRP!

DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 15, 2015) – The heated racing action atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval continues as the track reaches the mid-point of the 2015 season this Saturday night.

Saturday’s card that goes green at 7:30 p.m. includes a full slate of action including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

It marks the sixth round of championship chase action for all four divisions.

Austin Allen, Jeff Kaup, Michael Pepper and Cody Davis lead the way into Saturday’s action.

Coming off a runner-up finish in this past Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature, Allen has vaulted to the top of the point charts after previous leader Clay Sellard suffered his first DNF of the season after an early exit to the pit area.

In pursuit of a third consecutive track championship, Goddard’s Allen holds a slim 11-point lead over three-time feature winner Sellard with William Nusser, Jimmy Brozek and Ryan Heger also among the top five.

Also gunning for three track championship in a row, Woodward, Oklahoma’s Jeff Kaup reclaimed the IMCA Sport Modified point lead after a third-place run on Saturday night. Kaup is 19 points ahead of Mike Appel as the Sport Mods have offered five different winners in as many races thus far.

Lakin’s Michael Pepper has been a dominant force in IMCA Stock Cars action, racking up four wins in five tries to build a 54 point advantage over Randy Dowell.

With a pair of wins in the opening handful of events, Cody Davis has established a 23-point advantage over fellow Bucklin shoe Reagan Sellard in IMCA Hobby Stock action.

The 2015 slate of events at Dodge City Raceway Park includes 15 nights of competition with a number of special events along the way, highlighted by the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Boothill Showdown on July 3-4.
