Rette Jones Racing Announces Expansion
MOORESVILLE, North Carolina (June 27, 2015) – Officials from Rette Jones Racing (RJR) announced today the expansion of the team’s program from the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards to now include the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKPSE).
The team will make their debut in the NASCAR feeder series next weekend at Columbus (Oh.) Motor Speedway for the NAPA 150 on Saturday, July 4. The seventh race of the season will mark the first of a limited schedule planned for the Mooresville, North Carolina-based team.
“We’re proud of this next step in the growth of our young team,” said team principal Mark Rette. “Rette Jones Racing is still a big believer in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, but to ensure we have a diverse program, it was important for us to make this leap into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.”
Making his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut will be up and comer Grant Quinlan (@GQuinlan28).

A 16-year-old standout and current point’s leader in the ARCA / CRA Series, Quinlan will pilot the No. 30 International Tool and Mold Ford Fusion at the 0.333-mile oval.
Quinlan, a fierce competitor in the ARCA / CRA Late Model Series enters the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East with solid credentials. In addition to being a three-time World Karting Association (WKA) champion, Quinlan also has dominated in the Legend Cars in Michigan. Undoubtedly though, Quinlan realizes the leap to the K&N Pro Series East will be his biggest challenge yet.
“I’m really thankful for this opportunity with Rette Jones Racing,” said Quinlan. “The step into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East won’t be easy, but I feel that the goals we’ve set for ourselves are not only achievable, but are able to be exceeded. Mark (Rette, co-owner), Terry (Jones, co-owner) and everyone on the RJR team has been welcoming with open arms and our car looks fantastic. I’m anxious to see how we perform.”
Track time won’t be a necessity for Quinlan next weekend. Instead, the teenager will likely have turned more laps than any driver on the tour. In addition to the NAPA 150, Quinlan will also compete in this Saturday night’s Bud St. Amant Memorial at Columbus.
“The track time will help immensely,” added Quinlan. “Obviously, the cars are different, but the rhythm should help me out. Staying ahead of the competition as best as we can is vital to our success.”
Rette knows that his promising driver is putting a lot of pressure on himself to perform on Independence Day, but the former ARCA championship crew chief is ready to simmer his drivers expectations if need be.
“Terry (Jones) and I are very high on Grant,” he said. “Without a doubt, he has the potential to make it all the way. He’s like any race car driver who just thinks about going fast, but we’re driven on gearing him up on what to expect on the track, off the track, underneath the car, around the car, etc. He’s a quick learner and we think that will pay off on the racetrack.”
