Airborne Park Speedway Fireworks Event Postponed by Rain to July 11

Modifieds to run twin 50s at rescheduled “Battle of Plattsburgh”

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Airborne Park Speedway has postponed its Independence Day fireworks event due to thunderstorms that moved in during afternoon practice.  As a result, the “Battle of Plattsburgh” event has been moved to Saturday, July 11 at 6:00 p.m. with changes that will make the event even bigger.

The originally scheduled 76-lap feature for the J&S Steel Modified division has been changed to twin 50-lappers, giving fans two extra-distance main events.  The Key R-D Trailer Sales Renegade and Busch Beer Mini-Modified divisions will also run double features, and a massive fireworks display will wrap the evening up.  The event will begin one hour early at 6:00 p.m., with the fireworks planned to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Grandstand ticket stubs and pit area wristbands from the July 4 rainout will be honored on Saturday, July 11.  General admission for the rescheduled race will be $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and free for kids age 12 and under.  Car loads will be admitted for just $20 after 8:00 p.m.

Next week’s originally scheduled “Hometown Heroes” Night and double-points Mid-Season Championship event has been moved to Saturday, July 25, following the ACT International 500 Weekend on July 18-19.
